Summary: DRILLED, A standalone story in the Cougar Challenge series.
Lori Donovan accepts the Cougar Challenge and pledges to snag a hot young stud, knowing it’ll be tough once she moves back to her Texas hometown. She expects barren plains and rattlesnakes but finds hunky Jackson Blue drilling for oil on her property instead. A driller. Hmm. Lori has a few ideas about that and just about all of them involve her poor, needy, sex-starved body.
Jackson takes one look at the curvy, sexy, older woman and puts his expertise into action. After all, drilling is what he does best. Against the wall, on the floor or in the middle of her bed, he’s the man right man for the job. It’s a hot time in Texas when a tough, sexy drillin’ man meets a sassy cougar, and playing it safe just isn’t an option.

And here's Regina:

I don’t know when all the talk started about Cougars. You know, those sexually aggressive ‘older women’ who go after younger men for sexy fun and/or relationships. It’s really pretty much a new thing. Been thinking about this some lately, especially considering my new Ellora’s Cave book Drilled (part of the Cougar Challenge series) was just released. I’m beginning to believe the whole cougar phenomenon is, in part, generational.

As the Baby Boomer generation ages and a new generation of women move into their forties, I think it’s important to look at the growth of women over the past decade. With the Baby Boomer folks, it was pretty much always acknowledged that man older men had a ‘thing’ for young. The ladies rolled their eyes about that but seldom considered doing the same despite the fact they led the way for the rest of us in their marches for equal rights for women way back in the 1960’s. They were burning their bras, fighting for fair wages and respect in those years and the rest of us benefitted from their courage. The generation of smart, savvy women who followed them found it natural to go to college and pursue advanced degrees in predominately male fields such as medicine, science, and the law. They have made great strides in claiming the same kind of earning power as men and are a force to be reckoned with in today’s world.

In truth, women have come to realize they must reach for their dreams, work hard and love long. They are a ‘go for it’ group of women who want sexual satisfaction as much as men. They understand their own needs and desires and frankly, why not? Today’s woman in her 40’s and even her 50’s lives a healthy lifestyle and fully expects to live well into her 90’s. Why shouldn’t she live large and go for it?

HI Cerise! Thanks for having me here today. And yes, Cari, I love them too. In fact, my first EC book was a cougar story (Tempting Tess) and I had so much fun writing it. I've been doing a lot of paranormals lately but it was a nice change to do another cougar story!

Great post Reg:) The first OW/YM story I wrote, she was 28 and he barely 23. Would that count as 'Couger'?? LOL:) It's book #13 in my series.

Thanks to Regina's AWESOME book - Drilled - that I read (OH... it's so hot and two thumbs WAY UP!)... I'm buying the other stories in the cougar challenge series. I can't say enough terrific things about Drilled.

Ha. No, Molly I don't think 28 is quite cougar material! LOL. The interesting thing about cougar stories is these women have a past. They have disappointments and wisdom and have lived life a little bit. They know what they want in a man/lover.

Thanks soooo much for reading it, Laura. The other stories are fantastic. I know you'll love them. Be sure you watch for more in May. Fran Lee, Jayne Rylan and Samantha Cayto all have additions to the Cougar Challenge series releasing. YUM.

I definitely believe in going for it! Cougar stories are great fun!

They ARE great fun. I'm wondering if those of us who are happily married aren't just CHEERING for ladies of our age who are going for it.

As a woman in a relationship with a younger man, I've gotta say that more ladies should give it a try! I'm not yet technically a cougar--not that "cougar" is a term with technical definitions--but it's a sizeable gap between his age and mine. It's definitely a combination that when it works, IT WORKS, like mashed potatoes and gravy!

Hi Cerise, Hi Regina!

I love older woman/younger man stories. An old married woman can dream, right?

My book DESERT FEVER was an OW/YM paranormal erotic romance and I really enjoyed writing that story.

Nice visiting with you. Big congrats on your new release!

Best--Adele

OMG!!!! Hi Deb! I haven't talked with you in forever, chica! PURRRRR is right. Have you read all of the books in the series? So damn good.

Regina Carlysle said...

Hi Ruby dahling! I think if it works and you are HAPPY, that's the main thing. I heard there are different levels of cougarship (is that a word?) LOL. A puma, a cougar and something else, I've forgotten. Maybe you are a PUMA?

Regina Carlysle said...

Thanks Adele! How are you sweetie? I have another one too. Tempting Tess is in the Oh Yum series. Fun to write for sure.
