AFTERNOON DELIGHT #5

Perhaps you have a new partner whom you'd like to dazzle with your delicious prelude to an interlude, hmm?
Stun him with a Venetian bistro spritzer. A lunchtime favorite in that lovely city!
Buy a small bottle of club soda, Campari and a good prosecco and chill everything, bella! Buy one orange and a small bottle of cherries. Yum. Cerise's faves are cherries....
Then, that morning before your Delight arrives, saute 1/2 onion in good olive oil, add one diced tomato and 1/2 a zucchini, diced, and sauteed until just beautiful. Not overdone. Let it come to room temperature and serve in a lovely little bowl.
Buy or cut from your garden large lusty roses and let the rich aromas fill the air with luxury. Just before your Delight arrives, take 2 of the big roses and crush the petals in your hands. Do not wash away the fragrance, bella! Sprinkle the rose petals on your fresh linens.
Then in your boudoir or wherever you are serving your repast, put out large lovely olives stuffed with...yes, cara, garlic.
Slice a crusty bread into crostini size slices and toast or serve with hearty, crunchy whole wheat crackers.
The drink?
Ah. Just after he arrives fill large goblets each with 1 jigger of compari, 1/2 prosecco and club soda to let the bubbles rise and titillate and tickle your tastebuds. Garnish with a slice of orange and one cherry, sliced just in half to sit on the edge of your goblet.
Serve him your Venetian appetizers and then, feed him the cherry from your fingertips. Kiss the flavor of the spritz from his lips and then let him nibble at the orange.
When you return to the office or the store or wherever, no one will know how well sated you are on Cerise's scrumptious little meals meant for joy.
